We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Core Product Experiences team, working in Santiago, Chile. The Core Product Team at Front owns the heart of the application: our familiar-feeling but super-charged inbox where customers can triage and route incoming conversations, chat with their teammates to solve complex inquiries, and craft high quality replies. In this role you will manage the existing team of talented engineers to deliver on an ambitious roadmap, guide the team through technical decisions, scale this team by attracting and hiring talented engineers and obsess about making the team and their processes scale efficiently. This is also a very collaborative role where you will interface with other engineering managers and teams in other locations.
What will you be doing?
Drive and deliver on our product roadmap, working with your team to turn 1-pager specs into features
Grow your teams by coaching developing engineers and by attracting and hiring top talent
Obsess about the architectural design, implementation and quality of the work your team produces
Partner cross-functionally with Product and Design to innovate and execute product initiatives across the company
Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Front’s engineering management team
What skills and experience do you need?
A customer- and product-driven mindset; the ability to make a complex application feel simple and intuitive for the end user
Engineering management experience that includes effectively recruiting, mentoring, and retaining great people
Strong track record of running teams that deliver projects of significant complexity and high level of ambiguity
The ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, low-ego and high-growth environment; you work well with all kinds of personalities and with teams across multiple geographies
Clear, structured thinking and excellent communication skills
Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem, valuing pragmatism over idealism
Bonus:
Experience working in NodeJS or React
Strong design sense
Experience building tools in the customer support space
