What You’ll Be Doing

We’re expanding our market intelligence capabilities to bring future-looking insights to our customers and internal teams. Using Xeneta’s unique rate data and market indicators, you’ll create forecasts that look ahead 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, and even 10 years — helping our customers and teams make smarter, more informed decisions.

As a Forecasting Analyst – Ocean Freight, you will:
  • Develop short-, mid-, and long-term forecasts for global container freight markets.
  • Combine Xeneta’s rate data with macroeconomic and capacity indicators to identify market trends.
  • Work closely with Market Analysts, Product, Solutions & Value, and Data Science teams to refine and validate models, and to build the most promising ones inside our product.
  • Communicate your insights through reports, dashboards, and storytelling that explain what the numbers mean for shippers, forwarders, and carriers.
  • Contribute to Leadership Experiences, Tender reports, and long-term market outlooks used by some of the world’s biggest brands.
  • Collaborate across teams to make forecasting a core part of how Xeneta advises its customers.

Who You Are

You’re curious, analytical, and passionate about understanding how global trade evolves. You love turning complex data into clear insights and are just as comfortable working with numbers as you are discussing them with non-technical stakeholders.

Your Skills & Experience:
  • 3–5 years of experience in data analytics, forecasting, or market research, ideally in shipping, logistics, or economics.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills — you know your way around Excel, and preferably Python, R, or SQL.
  • Comfortable translating data into clear, engaging insights for commercial and executive audiences.
  • A strong collaborator — able to work across technical and commercial teams to connect data with strategy.
  • Full professional fluency in English, written and spoken.

Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with container shipping markets and rate behaviour.
  • Experience with Power BI, Snowflake, or time-series forecasting.

What We Offer

  • You will be a part of a growing company that is currently redefining a multi-million-dollar industry through a period of unprecedented upheaval. Your work will have significant impact on this.
  • You will work together with highly motivated colleagues who are curious to learn something new from you, and to teach you what they are good at.
  • You will enjoy our generous vacation plan: 5-10 extra paid days off around public holidays throughout the year, in addition to 5 weeks of paid vacation.
  • You can educate yourself during work hours: you can spend several hours each month attending courses, reading books, getting involved in communities.
  • We value work-life balance, and we want to make sure you can spend quality time with your family or enjoy your hobbies when your workday is over.
  • We will help you grow your career: our managers will help identify areas of improvement for you, either if you want to grow into a specialist in your field, or if you want to eventually go into leadership / management direction.
Xeneta is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

About Xeneta

At Xeneta, we have been on a mission to transform the ocean and air freight markets since 2012. We are doing this by building a data platform that provides intelligence to the very opaque industry of buying and selling containerized freight. Now, Xeneta is the leading freight rate benchmarking and market analytics platform—creating transparency and empowering our customers to make data-driven decisions.
Our customers include big brands such as Kuehne+Nagel, Coca-Cola Company, Unilever, Pfizer, Flexport, L'Oreál, Nestlé, and Volvo.
Headquartered in Oslo, with offices in Hamburg, London and Jersey City and employees from over 60 different countries, we are a truly international company that celebrates diversity. We’re growing at a fast pace, helped in part by our latest investment round where APAX Digital invested $80M, and we are continuously searching for top talent and partners to join us on our mission.
