  • Supporting the new connection process for power supplies to ensure metering requirements are met, including working with project teams, meter operators and power suppliers
  • Developing pricing for customers for bespoke power & optimisation tariffs and tracking outcomes
  • Preparing for and delivering monthly account reviews with VEV’s power supply & optimisation customers
  • Staying abreast of industry changes impacting commodity & non-commodity costs, flexibility markets, etc
  • Partnering with VEV’s Finance team to manage invoicing of customers
  • Supporting the delivery of VEV’s compliance processes related to power

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Minimum of 3 years in a commercial analyst role within the energy sector, with a focus on C&I (non-domestic) retail electricity markets, e.g. at a C&I energy retailer or TPI/broker
  • Detailed understanding of the components of C&I retail power supply price structures; experience of benchmarking and comparing differing offers; knowledge of the trends of non-commodity price components
  • Experience analysing meter data, interpreting, comparing with cost data, identifying errors, and providing actionable insights
  • Experience executing and managing power supply contracts for non-domestic customers
  • A solid understanding of how the GB physical power system operates, how transmission and distribution costs are recovered, and the fundamentals of the wholesale electricity market
  • Ability to analyse and model energy flows in a microgrid to balance generation (e.g. solar), battery storage, consumption and grid import/export
  • Proficiency in Excel models and data analysis; use of Python to analyse and manipulate data; and use of AI tools to assist in their development
