~31% of global GHG emissions originate from food-related activities. For the first time in history, climate performance has become an overall business performance indicator. Enterprises are mandated by regulatory bodies to disclose their climate performance, which leads to increasing pressure from investors, competitors, retailers, and consumers to prevent and reduce their CO2e emissions. Over the next 10 years, companies have set ambitious reduction targets that need to be met. Enterprise software and new business processes can help.

We raised >€10m in funding in the first 2 years of our existence, we launched our enterprise product, signed and onboarded some of the largest F&B players in Europe, and put together what we believe is the best-suited early stage tech team in Europe. Will you be the next to join us? 🚀

🔭 What you will work on

Your mission

Lead Root’s efforts in understanding and co-shaping the emission management ambitions of financial institutions in the F&B value chain across Europe.

Over the next 12 months, you will:

• Conduct market analysis

  • Conduct market analysis to identify key players, trends, and competitive dynamics

  • Conduct user research to gather insights on customer needs, objectives, and roadmaps

  • Banks:

    • Banks for food processors e.g. Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank

    • Banks for farmers e.g. DKB, Credit Agricole

  • Investors e.g. BlackRock, Fidelity

  • Insurance companies e.g. Allianz, Groupama

• Build partnerships

  • Work collaboratively with clients and customers to support and guide them on their decarbonization journey

  • Secure partnerships with potential clients by building strong relationships and demonstrating the value of portfolio engagement

• Collaborate with internal teams

  • Provide market insights and customer feedback to the internal team to guide product development and prioritization

🧺 What you bring along

You might be a good fit if:

You likely have 2-5 years of consulting/ investment experience in the retail banking/ ESG sector.

You also demonstrate the following:

1. Entrepreneurial spirit:

   • Ability to thrive in a startup environment with limited resources

   • Willingness to take initiative and a hands-on approach to problem-solving

2. Clarity of thought:

   • Ability to reason logically, form sound arguments, and identify flaws in reasoning

   • Ability to use precise and accurate language to express ideas, avoiding vague or ambiguous terms

3. Willingness to learn:

   • Display a strong curiosity to understand new concepts, technologies, and industry trends

   • Actively seek opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge through training, research, and hands-on experience

4. Communication skills:

   • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written

   • Ability to articulate ideas, decisions, or value propositions in a charismatic way

5. Understanding of financial institutions and climate strategies:

   • Understanding of the challenges, initiatives, and relevant players within the European banking, investing, and insurance landscape

   • Understanding of financial products, their investment criteria, and their customers
