At Rooser, we’re on a mission to eliminate the world’s seafood waste. For us, this means creating transparency and certainty in what is an incredibly tough industry.

We’re building the world’s first seafood trading platform dedicated to connecting seafood processors with wholesalers.

We want to eradicate the fragmented processes and volatility that plagues the industry & get seafood flowing more efficiently through the supply chain. As a perishable product, increased speed means longer shelf life and, ultimately, less waste.

Sounds simple, but this is no small feat.

🪸 The role mission

We're looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to join the Rooser crew. Over three billion people rely on seafood as a key food source, yet a third is wasted in the supply chain.

You'll dive deep into the industry's unique challenges, building tech to eliminate waste by streamlining how seafood is traded. As a leader in the team, you’ll play a crucial role in setting the technical direction to scale our services and exceed our customers’ expectations.

🚢 On the Deck: Your key responsibilities

• Lead product teams to design, build, and maintain front-end components of our applications (including marketplace features, logistics, payments, quality control, and potentially mapping the oceans in the future).

• Working directly with our customers and Rooser team to really understand their needs to ensure consistency of user experience

• Define and implement a scalable architecture for micro front-end applications, specifically suited for the complexities and dynamics of the seafood industry.

• Lead our Frontend Guild to build a centre of expertise by sharing and developing best practices with the team.

• Are more interested in complex technical challenges than in solving user problems. We take a pragmatic approach and focus on delivering user value. We optimise complex technical challenges as they arise.

• Want to be a line manager now. You’ll mentor and develop others, but your focus is on technical ownership rather than people management.

• Prefer to join a company that has reached ideal product-market fit (PMF) and is focused on scaling and optimising. This role is best for people who enjoy solving the PMF puzzle.

• Prefer fully remote positions. We’re a hybrid company and value in-person collaboration.

• Our mission to eliminate seafood waste and create a sustainable future for the industry doesn't resonate with you. You don't need to be a seafood expert, but we do want people on board who want to make a positive difference to our planet.
