About the role

The Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for maintaining and developing transparent relationships with our regulators.

We’re looking for a Regulatory Affairs Manager who’ll manage relationships with regulators as we continue to adapt regulatory strategies to our global expansion.

As an expert communicator, you'll use your skills to set the right tone internally and externally to be an ambassador for maintaining and adhering to the team's internal processes.

What you’ll be doing

• Communicating clearly with regulators and the business, including distilling complex information into smaller, digestible chunks
• Keeping our regulators up to date with new products and initiatives
• Working with the wider Risk and Compliance team to share communications during an incident
• Preparing management reports and management information, in particular for regulator meetings, internal committees, and the Board
• Delivering training and updates to product teams and wider business on regulatory requirements and changes
• Building processes and documentation for the team in a scalable and sustainable way
• Being a champion for conduct and compliance across the business

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience working at financial institutions in Japan
• Ample experience interacting with regulatory authorities in Japan (Japan FSA, Local Financial Bureau, MOF, and Bank of Japan) and building solid relationships with them
• Knowledge of how financial institutions are supervised and how a group Regulatory Affairs team works
• Self-motivation, self-organisation, and focus on high-quality delivery
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver a message succinctly
• The ability to work independently and with changing priorities
• The ability to build genuine, mutually respectful relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders of varying seniorities
