About the role

The Legal department sits at the heart of Revolut and is a core part of the business. Members of the team provide front-line guidance and support to all areas of the company, contributing to decisions that impact on Revolut’s growth every day.

We're looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to sit within the small, but growing, Dispute Resolution team. The team deals with a wide range of issues including actual and threatened litigation, supporting the team responsible for external dispute resolution mechanisms (such as the FOS) and providing internal strategic advice.

Your focus will be on the strategic mitigation of litigation and regulatory risk to the business. You'll manage and support a wide range of litigation and contentious matters, as well as providing day-to-day pragmatic legal advice to key stakeholders.

Up to shape the future of finance? Let's get in touch.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identifying and managing litigation risk
  • Advising and supporting business functions on a wide variety of contentious legal and regulatory issues
  • Keeping management and business units up-to-date on litigation and contentious regulatory developments and strategy
  • Working on the timely and cost-effective resolution of contentious matters, including leading external dispute resolution correspondence
  • Supporting the EDR team with overall strategy to mitigate liabilities
  • Running internal fact-finding investigations
  • Drafting, reviewing, and approving correspondence and court documents, and attending court hearings when necessary
  • Coordinating disclosure, including collection and production of materials
  • Managing outside counsel

What you'll need

  • Excellent academic and law firm credentials
  • 1–3 years of legal experience as a private practice lawyer, dealing with financial services at a top law firm
  • Fluency in English with exceptional communication skills
  • Experience in all phases of litigation and ADR
  • An understanding of the FCA handbook as relevant to dispute resolution (DISP)
  • Impressive analytical, problem-solving, and drafting skills
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships at all levels across the business
  • The ability to excel independently and in cross-functional teams
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to make logical decisions under tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and take responsibility for resolving issues
  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects at once
  • To thrive in a high-performance, entrepreneurial environment

Nice to have

  • Experience managing escalations to the Financial Ombudsman’s Service
  • In-house experience
