Job Mission:
We are looking for a Director Sales & Account Management, Japan to provide dedicated, on-the-ground leadership that strengthens client relationships, drives new business acquisition, and ensures successful go-to-market execution. In this role, you will directly manage the Japan sales and account management teams, while operating as a player-coach to guide, support, and grow the business. By maintaining a continuous presence in the market, you will lead and mentor the Account Executive and Account Manager, while also contributing hands-on to pipeline building, client management, and revenue growth until the business is ready to scale further.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Management
- Directly manage and coach the Japan AE and AM, setting clear objectives and providing ongoing mentorship.
- Act as a player-coach by personally driving sales and account management activities, especially in the early stage.
- Ensure high motivation, presence, and alignment of the local team.
New Business Development
- Identify and prioritize key prospects in Japan.
- Develop and execute strategies and tactics for prospect activation and conversion.
- Collaborate closely with the AE, Field Marketer Japan, and Director Global Sales Enablement to drive pipeline growth.
Client Growth & Retention
- Segment the existing client base (direct clients and agencies) and develop tailored strategies to grow and retain them.
- Guide and partner with the AM to strengthen relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Director Global AM Enablement on client strategies and delivery excellence.
Market Engagement
- Increase Remerge’s local market presence by representing the company at events, conferences, and industry gatherings.
- Frequently join AE and AM in client and prospect meetings, ensuring executive visibility and stronger relationship-building.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with regional leadership and global functions (Enablement, Marketing, Operations) to align on GTM initiatives and share learnings from the Japan market.
- Act as the primary point of contact for Japan within the global revenue leadership structure.
Job requirements:
- Proven track record in enterprise sales and account management within digital advertising, adtech, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience in player-coach environments.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with clients and partners.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage competing priorities.
- Native Japanese speaker with strong English proficiency (spoken and written).
