The concept for REKKI was born in the kitchen. Our founders ran restaurants for over 10 years, and saw firsthand all the problems inherent in the industry. So in 2016 they started building an app to make the lives of chefs easier. Today REKKI is the world's largest marketplace for restaurants and suppliers. REKKI gives chefs and restaurants the power of choice in easily partnering with suppliers; enabling them to browse, order, and pay seamlessly - saving both time and money.

The opportunity: Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager at REKKI you are the face of our business. You are an expert in relationship management and demonstrate your skills by exceeding sales targets, working through complex tasks and to tight deadlines.

You will grow the REKKI customer base and manage a set of existing accounts, maintaining the relationships and growing them through networking and regular visits. The customers you will interact with will vary, including everything from small independent cafes and bakeries to Michelin star restaurants and food suppliers.

You will work closely with the wider Sales and Technical teams to ensure that our customers receive the highest level of service and support.

What’s the role?

  • Build trusted relationships with customers across the hospitality industry.
  • Increase business sales with existing customers and generate new business.
  • Create and maintain a healthy sales funnel with fresh leads added regularly and business opportunities closed as and when possible.
  • Represent REKKI at meetings with customers, demonstrating credibility and professionalism at all times.
  • Create a business plan for your region which allows for relationship development and new business generation.
  • Manage your own P+L, ensuring targets are met and exceeded.
  • Drive insights from customers' stories, feedback data and share them with the wider organisation, which will have a direct impact on the direction of our product.

What are we looking for?

  • 3 + years sales experience in the food/hospitality industry
  • In depth understanding of how the industry works and an established network in the space (Food suppliers and/or restaurants/chefs).
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with strong emotional intelligence
  • A drive to hit and exceed targets.
  • The ability to plan and prioritise for success
  • A positive attitude and can do mindset
  • Resilience and self motivation.
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • The ability to build relationships with all types of people in all types of situations
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
