Our data science organization is dedicated to enabling top-quality decision-making. We closely collaborate with product and experimentation teams to deliver insights that optimize the tutor and learner experience. Positioned at the heart of Preply, we leverage data to drive better decisions and enhance data literacy across the company.
What you’ll be doing:
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyze user behavior and product usage, working with complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems. Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experiment & Measure: Quantify the impact of new product features and initiatives to identify the most significant growth opportunities and help prioritize our roadmap.
- Visualization & Metrics: Create user-friendly dashboards and visualizations to highlight trends and user behavior. Design tracking events, define engagement metrics and key performance indicators.
- Strategic Planning: Organize and prioritize tasks with stakeholders for both tactical and strategic projects. Participate in defining objectives and key results (OKRs) alongside your product manager.
- Mentorship: Share your expertise and support the growth of data scientists within your team.
What you need to succeed:
- Experience in data analytics working with product teams, experimenting and uncovering opportunities for product optimization.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with programming languages such as Python or R.
- Ability to apply statistical techniques to derive meaningful insights and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with concepts such as conversion, LTV, cohort analysis, retention, etc.
- Curious and creative mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving, engaging in the formation and evaluation of new hypotheses.
- Interest in the bigger picture, feeling excited to impact the product roadmap and strategy.
- Ability to craft compelling stories with data and communicate complex insights in a clear and engaging way, driving change among diverse stakeholders.
- High level of self-organization, ownership, and responsibility;
Nice to have:
- Experience with product analytics tools (e.g. MixPanel, Amplitude, Heap)
- Background in Marketplaces or digital businesses (B2B, B2C, B2B2C).
- Previous experience in mentoring or coaching others.
