Our stack

We like to try new things out but most of our stack is built around Typescript back and front, as it increased our productivity individually and as a team. Here are the things we use - and love:
React
Typescript

Micro-services architecture on AWS with terraform

What you will do

You will build features, even full products from scratch that provide value for users
Concretely, here are the projects you will work on:
Goals & sales forecasts: you will help brands set targets and goals to increase their metrics
Alerts feature: you will help brands monitor their metrics and receive snapshots and alerts of their data by slack or email
You will reason about the design of our existing systems and implement changes
You will work closely with Product to gather and translate requirements into technical solutions to achieve the maximum impact

You love building products from scratch
You are passionate about data products: you want to have an impact on the modern data stack future
You have spent a meaningful time (3+ years) as a hands-on engineer
You are fluent with our stack (React, Typescript, Node.js)
You thrive in a dynamic and fast-changing environment
You are curious, with an active technological watch
You have a sense of ownership and responsibility

Your technical expertise:

You are proficient writing production-level code in Polar’s core technologies or will quickly learn them
You have great API design knowledge
Bonus:
You have experience working with AWS services is definitely a plus
You have experience working on a data products and understand the performance challenges of dealing with great volumes of data

Hiring process

We like to move fast but want to give you a chance to meet as many team members as possible:
Introduction chat with CTO: vision, progress, milestones, past org scaling experience, what you like working on, etc. In-person or remote - 20/30 mins
Technical discussion with CTO - 45 mins
Technical test with Lead Engineer. Similar to problems we’ve worked on. Live test - 1 hour
System design with CTO & Engineer - 1 hour
Culture Fit with CEO & team member - 1h
2 final steps:
2-way ref check. You chat with our investors, customers, & partners. We chat with previous (or current) coworkers/managers.
Offer. 3 options. 1 high equity. 1 high base. 1 mid equity/base. You also get to see our cap table, revenue, burn, customer pipeline, & state of the company.
