About incident.io

incident.io is the leading all-in-one platform for incident management. From small bugs to major outages, incident.io helps teams respond fast, reduce downtime, and improve every time something goes wrong.

Since launching in 2021, we’ve helped 800 companies—including Netflix, Airbnb and Block—resolve over 250,000 incidents. Every month, more than 30,000 responders across Engineering, Product and Support use incident.io to fix things faster.

We’re a small team that cares deeply about pragmatism, quality, magic, and pace. We've raised $100M from Index Ventures, Insight Partners and Point Nine, alongside many angel investors who are founders and executives of world-class companies.

The Team

Our engineers know the drill – they’ve been paged at 3am. They’re on a mission to transform those wee-hour wake-up calls into smoother, more manageable experiences for engineering teams everywhere. In fact, they’re some of our product’s biggest fans and users. What really sets them apart is their unwavering commitment to our customers.

Now we’re adding a new kind of engineer to the mix. Part product designer, part frontend engineer, our design engineers are here to make our product feel exceptional from the very first click. They’re deeply focused on crafting intuitive, beautiful experiences, blending strong UX instincts with the ability to bring designs to life in production.

You’ll work closely with our product and engineering teams, bridging the gap between design vision and real-world implementation. You’ll sweat the details on interaction patterns and UI polish, ensuring that the product not only works well but feels great to use.

Our frontend stack is built in Typescript with React, and we use Go for our backend services. Deployment runs on Google Cloud Platform with GKE and Cloud SQL. While you’ll be comfortable shipping code, your superpower is using design thinking and frontend craftsmanship to elevate the user experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying the most impactful UX and UI improvements, and working with product and engineering to make them a reality.

  • Collaborating with customers and internal teams to understand pain points and opportunities to make our product more intuitive, delightful, and efficient.

  • Taking end-to-end ownership of features and flows – from early sketches and prototypes through to implementation and release.

  • Bringing a strong visual and interaction design perspective to engineering discussions, and helping shape our design system and component library.

  • Iterating quickly, balancing craft and speed to deliver improvements that make a real difference for our users.

What you need to be successful:

  • Experience designing and implementing high-quality user interfaces for web applications, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.

  • Proficiency with modern frontend frameworks, ideally React, with the ability to turn design concepts into production-ready code.

  • A strong understanding of design principles, UX best practices, and accessibility standards.

  • Comfortable working across the design–engineering spectrum, from Figma to code editor.

  • Collaborative, customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate feedback into actionable improvements.

  • Experience working with design systems, and an eye for detail in typography, spacing, and component states.
