About incident.io
incident.io is the leading all-in-one platform for incident management. From small bugs to major outages, incident.io helps teams respond fast, reduce downtime, and improve every time something goes wrong.
Since launching in 2021, we’ve helped 800 companies—including Netflix, Airbnb and Block—resolve over 250,000 incidents. Every month, more than 30,000 responders across Engineering, Product and Support use incident.io to fix things faster.
We’re a small team that cares deeply about pragmatism, quality, magic, and pace. We've raised $100M from Index Ventures, Insight Partners and Point Nine, alongside many angel investors who are founders and executives of world-class companies.
The Team
The small but mighty Marketing team at incident.io is responsible for accelerating revenue growth. We define product marketing as communicating how the world hears about, and understands, our product, from sales collateral and pitch narratives, to website creative, and product launch materials.
In this role, you’ll play a critical role in establishing incident.io as the market leader in incident response, guiding us through our hypergrowth phase.
How will you do this? By creating remarkable content that sparks interest, builds sales pipeline, and ultimately wins new customers. You’ll have a sharp eye for what good writing looks like, and proven experience in creating compelling positioning and messaging that cuts through the noise.
What you’ll be doing:
Understanding our market and customers by conducting research with customers and prospects to identify needs, preferences, and pain points. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies while mapping the competitive landscape.
Empowering sales to hit their number, by synthesizing customer challenges, market insights, and product benefits to create impactful sales enablement materials. Develop resources such as sales scripts, presentations, one-pagers, battle cards, and case studies to equip the sales team to hit their number every quarter.
Translating insights into clear, impactful messaging by creating compelling and differentiated narratives that communicate our value to customers. You'll develop a deep understanding of customer personas and pain points to inform messaging and positioning. You'll know how to craft copy that's concise, engaging, and on-brand.
Influencing marketing strategy and collaborating with Marketing to infuse product messaging across the website, customer-facing communication, marketing campaigns, and content strategy.
Strengthening product launches, by developing and executing strategies to drive adoption and success of incident.io products. Infuse customer empathy and market insights into every touchpoint of the customer journey.
What you need to be successful:
Strong product marketing foundation, and you’ve probably read the book Obviously Awesome a few times.
We’re a startup, so you’ll need to be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Exceptional ability to influence and build trust across all organizational functions and levels.
Proven experience with positioning and messaging for software products, with the ability to distill complex ideas into simple, powerful stories.
Relevant experience with personas and products in the software engineering space. You might even have your own GitHub account!
