We’re looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer to join one of our cross-functional engineering teams.
Our teams are mission-driven, diverse, and passionate about solving real-world problems for thousands of companies globally. While the domain you'll work in may vary (e.g., Operations, Talent, Finance, Growth), the expectations, autonomy, and support will be consistent.
The Engineering team at large
At Factorial, we have a team of +150 very talented fullstack developers. We look for smart people who are curious, proactive and have good soft/communication skills.
We are not looking for a long list of skills and technologies. Our stack is Ruby on Rails for the backend and React/React-native for the clients.

🎯 What You’ll Do
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Designers to build user-centric, maintainable solutions.
- Develop features across the full stack (frontend/backend).
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and team rituals to maintain high engineering standards.
- Take ownership of tasks and deliver independently or in small groups, with growing autonomy.
- Debug production issues and contribute to the stability and performance of the platform.
- Work in agile teams with clear priorities and a shared roadmap.
- Learn continuously and contribute to team knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Contribute to planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
💡 Your Profile
- Experience with at least one modern backend language or framework (e.g., Ruby, Python, Node).
- Solid experience with React, JavaScript, or TypeScript on the frontend.
- Ability to collaborate in English (spoken and written) across cross-functional teams.
- A strong sense of ownership and a mindset focused on outcomes, not just delivery.
- You’re pragmatic: you know when to ship fast and when to raise the quality bar.
- You’re a team player who thrives in a feedback-driven, transparent culture.

For this mid-level position, the annual gross salary is 42.800€. This includes a base salary of 40,000€ and a variable pay of up to 2,800€ annually (paid quarterly), depending on the company's goals.
Your daily life with us
You’ll start with a 2 weeks onboarding period, where you will:
- You will be learning about Factorial, our product, our team, our clients
- Pair with each member of the team at least once, to see their current initiatives
- Solve low-stake bug tickets or quick wins
- Commit early and often thanks to our cloud dev environment
- Be fully integrated in the team’s rituals from day 1
You will be a product engineer, taking ownership of big initiatives, and being interested in the outcome, not just the output. About the outcome, you’ll also work with your team members to establish goals and plan a quarterly roadmap, putting special attention to the technical needs of our domain.
You will be involved in customer calls to learn about their pains & needs.
You will review code daily and get feedback on your own code at every pull request, from all team members, including juniors.
You will learn from the entire team, both on technical topics (performance, architecture…) and core skills, in an environment driven by engineering quality. You will also mentor junior team members and help them learn from your experience..

The hiring process
- A first conversation with our Talent Acquisition Partner. It will be about comparing our expectations and making sure we match on a human level. We will also check our Engineering Rubrics (check them out, they are open!) and the salary in your position.
- A second conversation with the team’s engineering manager. This is about making sure we can work together. Here you will have a conversation about the team, their needs, your profile and how can you complement it. Expect to have a mix of a human and technical conversation.
- A tech interview with three Factorial engineers: that’s a conversation about technology, not an exam or a code review. We’ll ask you to send us a piece of code you’ve written recently and are happy with, to use as a basis for the conversation. If you don’t have anything we’ll share some specifications for you to build, but the focus will be on how you think, not the lines you code.
- One last coffee-chat with our CTO, where you can get all the answers about Factorial’s culture, business vision, or anything else that interests you.
- And that’s it! Feel free to request any other conversation you want, with team members or to address specific concerns at any time during the process.
