Job Description
We are looking for a Machine Learning Manager to lead the team driving the development of the AI engine behind the Noa.ai product. Our mission is to revolutionize access to quality healthcare by alleviating the administrative burden on doctors, clinics, and medical personnel, enabling them to focus on patient care.
Currently, the team is dedicated to Noa Notes, an innovative solution that automates medical documentation creation freeing doctors from time-consuming administrative tasks. Technically, it blends Automatic Speech Recognition models with the power the LLMs power. Apart from the online inference system, we’ve built a comprehensive quality assurance and validation stack. But that’s not all - we are actively planning and exploring additional groundbreaking AI initiatives aimed at transforming healthcare through technology. As part of this team, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of AI-driven healthcare solutions.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Progress Management:
Translate Noa’s objectives into actionable team goals and foster collaboration.
Guide the team in creating and executing a prioritized roadmap to achieve objectives.
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring timely execution with high-quality results.
Oversee the review and validation of datasets, models, and code to maintain quality standards.
Track project progress, ensuring milestones are met and stakeholders are informed.
Collaborate with the Principal Scientist to tackle complex technical challenges and adopt cutting-edge methodologies.
Collaboration, Tools & Resources:
Work with software engineers, DevOps, and IT to ensure seamless ML model deployment.
Partner with product managers to align solutions with business needs and deliver actionable insights.
Ensure the team has the tools, frameworks, and resources needed for success.
Data Pipeline, Legal Compliance & Linguist Management:
Manage data gathering, processing, and labeling to meet legal and business requirements.
Collaborate with the legal team to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Oversee the linguist team (via their coordinator) to ensure high-quality data annotation.
Qualifications
What will help you thrive?
3 years experience managing a team of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, responsible for training/fine-tuning models, operating online in production.
5+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, or AI development.
Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in dynamic environments with a focus on delivering business value to end customers.
Proven track record of delivering machine learning models or data-driven solutions in production environments.
Strong understanding of model lifecycle: data preprocessing, training, evaluation, and deployment.
Proven ability to manage timelines, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, marketing, engineering).
Bonus points:
Experience in Speech Recognition models training/evaluating.
Being a medalist in the Informatics/Alghorytmics Olympiad & programming competition (we have some of them on the team).
Understanding of MLOps tools and processes for maintaining production systems.
Knowledge of data privacy law (e.g., GDPR) and AI ethics principles.
