About the role:

As a Staff Software Engineer at CloudTalk, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our products and contributing to the success of our engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers and align with our company's goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.

At CloudTalk, senior engineers are part of the Architecture guild, it is expected that you will play a key role in shaping our architecture and architecture decisions.

We are investing more resources into AI and currently have two teams focusing on building AI enabled features which are a part of our broader strategy. There are various architecture and scaling challenges related to applying AI on top of the Voice data. You’ll be a part of one of the teams, but contributing broadly to the whole AI subsystem and architecture as a whole.

What you will do:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and project goals
• Drive the implementation of best practices, coding standards, and design patterns
• Design and develop robust, scalable, performant and maintainable software solutions
• Lead the implementation of complex features and modules
• Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards
• Actively contribute to the ideation and implementation of innovative solutions
• Solve complex technical challenges and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to propose improvements to current systems
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, and operations, to deliver high-quality software products

What we are looking for:

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Proven expertise in at least three programming languages (Python and Go are preferred)
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Demonstrated experience in mentoring other SW Engineers
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Effective cross functional communication and collaboration skills
• A background in data science and LLMs would be highly advantageous
