Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are currently seeking a Manager, Product Marketing to join our Product Marketing team in Burnaby, Toronto or Calgary. We are also open to remote candidates across Canada or the U.S.

What your team does:

The Product Marketing team at Clio is the connective tissue between product, revenue, and the market. We translate complex product capabilities into clear value for legal professionals — and we do it across the full customer journey, from awareness through adoption and expansion.

As a manager on this team, you'll own a portfolio and the people behind them. You'll set the strategic direction for how Clio's features and capabilities go to market, shape the narratives that sales and customer success rely on every day, and hold the bar on what "good" looks like for launches, positioning, and enablement.

Rated a top place to work in product marketing and product marketing team of the year by the Product Marketing Alliance, this is a team that values rigor, initiative, and results — and we hold managers to the same standard. You'll be expected to develop your people, drive portfolio performance, and operate with the same bias toward action you ask of your team.

Who you are:

  • You lead people, not just projects. You have managed or formally mentored PMMs and know the difference between delegating tasks and developing capability. You can coach someone through a weak positioning draft, give direct feedback when the work isn't landing, and still keep the person motivated and growing.

  • You come with a point of view. You can look across a product portfolio, a set of funnel metrics, and a competitive landscape and form a clear strategic perspective — then articulate it credibly with product, sales leadership, senior stakeholders, and your team.

  • You're a strong storyteller and you raise the bar on others' stories. You write well. But more importantly, you can read someone else's messaging doc and immediately identify what's missing, what's muddled, and what will fall flat with the audience. Your instinct is to sharpen, not just to produce.

  • You hold the standard on cross-functional execution. You've worked in a SaaS environment where GTM involves coordinating with product, revenue enablement, sales, and CS simultaneously. You know how to move work forward across competing priorities without losing alignment — and you know when to escalate versus when to unblock it yourself.

  • You turn data into direction. You set measurable goals for your portfolio and your team, and you use funnel metrics, adoption data, competitive signals, and content performance to track progress and course-correct. You're comfortable owning the measurement framework end-to-end — from defining success to reporting on it.

  • You operate well in ambiguity. Clio moves fast. Roadmaps shift. Priorities get re-sequenced. You can adapt your team's focus without losing momentum, and you communicate changes with enough clarity that your team doesn't spiral.

What you'll work on:

Portfolio Leadership

  • Own the end-to end GTM strategy, drive product adoption, feature engagement and retention across your portfolios while setting clear priorities for your team

  • Maintain standout positioning and messaging strategy that is grounded in customer insights, competitive intelligence, and business goals — and that your team has what they need to deliver against it

  • Drive growth across portfolio KPIs, using data, customer feedback, and market intelligence to identify opportunities, strategy and recommendations

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for your portfolio, connecting product strategy to marketing outcomes

Go-to-Market Strategy & Planning

  • Lead GTM planning cycles, ensuring priorities align with the direction set by the Sr. Manager, Product Marketing

  • Partner with your Product Management counterparts to ensure customer and market insights are consistently informing the roadmap and informing GTM decisions

  • Set clear standards for how your team launches features, drives adoption, measures success, and scales learnings — while empowering them to own execution

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Represent your portfolios in monthly PMM-CMM cross-functional planning to ensure adequate prioritization of your portfolios

  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders outside your immediate team to remove execution blockers and drive shared objectives forward

  • Ensure your team is resourced and set up to deliver on cross-functional commitments

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop your team, supporting their career growth while holding them accountable to strong performance and results

  • Build a high-performing team culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Drive high engagement on your team and proactively address issues before they impact performance or morale

  • Create and maintain internal equity within your team, working with relevant stakeholders to ensure fairness and consistency

  • Enable your team to deliver impact in line with department goals — and guide them with clarity and confidence when faced with change

  • Report to the Senior Manager, Product Marketing, contributing to team-wide planning and helping raise the standard of product marketing execution at Clio

What you may have:

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing, with meaningful ownership of go-to-market strategy across a product portfolio

  • 2+ years of experience leading and developing product marketers, including coaching on messaging and positioning craft

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex product capabilities into clear value propositions

  • Experience partnering directly with product management, sales leadership, and customer success to drive cross-functional launches and adoption

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using funnel, adoption, and competitive data to set goals and course-correct a team's priorities

  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute across multiple concurrent launches and portfolios while meeting deadlines

  • Strong communication and writing skills, including the ability to read someone else's draft and identify what's missing or muddled before it reaches sales or customers

  • Comfort making decisions and re-sequencing priorities with imperfect information as roadmaps shift

This role is a backfill for an existing position.
