Summary:

We are currently seeking a Technical Author to join our growing Customer Success team in the UK.

What your team does:

ShareDo, part of Clio, is a cutting-edge adaptive work management platform that empowers large law firms to develop tailored solutions for managing their work processes. We are currently targeting mid to large law firms who use ShareDo as their Case Management System to streamline processes, maximize margin, and provide improved client experiences.

In March 2025, Clio, the global leader in cloud-based legal technology, announced the strategic acquisition of ShareDo. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, Clio has offices in Toronto, Calgary, Dublin, Manchester, and Sydney, with a global workforce of 1,400+ employees.

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Author to join our team and help us produce high-quality documentation for ShareDo, our case management platform used by law firms and other professional services. This is an ideal role for someone early in their technical writing career who wants to develop their skills and grow with a supportive, forward-thinking team.

You’ll work closely with product managers, developers, business analysts, and implementation teams to produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that supports both internal and external users, configurators, and administrators of the ShareDo platform.

What you’ll work on:

  • Create and maintain clear, concise, and accurate user guides, release notes, help topics, and process documentation.

  • Assist in maintaining and organising our content repositories and documentation libraries.

  • Support the production of in-product help, knowledge base articles, and onboarding materials.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information about new features, system changes, and best practices.

  • Edit and update existing documentation in line with product changes and feedback from users.

  • Follow established style guides, templates, and processes for consistent, high-quality outputs.

  • Work with the team to continuously improve documentation quality, structure, and usability.

What you may have:

  • Some experience in writing technical or user documentation, preferably for software products.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to explain complex topics in plain language for non-technical audiences.

  • Comfortable working with subject matter experts and asking clarifying questions.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Confluence, or other content platforms.

  • Exposure to ShareDo or similar case/work management platforms.

  • Experience writing for legal, professional services, or SaaS environments.

  • Basic understanding of Agile or iterative development processes.

  • Experience using documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Git-based systems, WYSIWYG HTML editors, Helpjuice, or CMS platforms. - Industry standards

  • Awareness of best practices in technical writing, accessibility, and information design.

The full salary range* for this role is £43,600 to £51,300 to £59,000 GBP.Please note salary bands may differ based on location and local currency. Additionally, benefit offerings may differ depending on the employee's location.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate.
