Summary:

We are seeking a Director to join our Product team and take the helm of Clio Manage, our flagship product.

This strategic role demands a visionary leader who will unify the various components of Manage into a single, cohesive product line. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire product suite lifecycle, from refining the overall vision to strategic planning and execution, ensuring that Manage not only meets its current market demands but also expands its reach and functionality.

This role is available to candidates across Canada and the US. If you’re local to one of our Hub locations (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Dublin), you will be expected to be in the office a minimum of once per week on one of our Anchor Days.

‘Manage’ is the backbone of the legal operating system and the cornerstone of Clio’s market success for the past 16 years. It has redefined how law firms operate, collaborate, and succeed in the digital era. Used by hundreds of thousands of legal professionals worldwide, it also forms the foundation for Clio’s next phase of growth as we evolve the product and enter new markets, segments and areas of specialization.

What you'll work on:

As the Director of Clio Manage, you will spearhead efforts to enhance and unify our flagship product, ensuring it remains at the forefront of legal practice management technology. You will provide strategic oversight and aim setting, as well as hands-on management of Manage’s product life cycle.

In this role you will also collaborate closely with other product areas to ensure that we’re executing against a robust roadmap with common aims which strengthen Clio’s “flywheel” value proposition to customers. You will build alignment across all functions of the business and drive innovation that builds upon Manage’s market leading status.

By maintaining a sharp focus on user needs and market trends, you will ensure that Manage continues to lead the industry, providing unparalleled value to our customers.

  • Product Vision and Strategy:

    • Define the vision and strategic goals for Clio Manage, focusing on a unified vision and expansion into new segments.

    • Articulate and share a clear 1, 3, and 5-year strategy that aligns with the company's overarching goals.

    • Conduct detailed analysis of new opportunities, presenting assessments, forecasts, and strategic opinions to guide investment decisions.

    • Lead the creation of a product roadmap that drives innovation while addressing market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.

    • Become the expert on our customers by gaining a deep understanding of the environments in which they operate.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Provide visionary leadership to a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

    • Hire, mentor, and develop team members in accordance with product management best practices.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, marketing, sales, operations, and customer success, to ensure seamless product development and effective go-to-market strategies.

    • Foster strong communication channels within the team and across the company to breed creativity and accelerate project timelines.

  • Analysis and Insights:

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to measure the success of the product.

    • Synthesize market research, customer feedback, and competitive analysis to create actionable strategies that enhance product offerings.

  • Product Lifecycle Management:

    • Oversee the entire product lifecycle of Clio Manage, from concept and development to launch, post-launch optimization, and scaling.

    • Ensure that business performance adheres to targets and implement corrective measures across product and other business functions as needed.

    • Develop and implement strategies for new initiatives, ensuring that product launches are timely, meet quality standards, and deliver significant customer impact.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years in a Director role at a multi-product company.

  • Deep experience in B2B, SaaS (bonus points for verticalized SaaS).

  • A proven track record with multiple examples of scaling existing products as well as launching new ones.

  • An ability to go from a 10,000 foot view into the details and back again.

  • Experience as a thought leader, defining a vision and long-term strategies.

  • Exceptional communication skills.

  • Skilled at bringing your product team as well as cross functional teams along with you, motivating them to challenge and support.

  • Experience working with senior leaders, and are able to easily navigate communications with the executive team.

  • You can take an ambiguous problem space, quickly understand the issues and circumstances at play and create a concrete and actionable plan for your team.

  • You have a track record of building and growing a high-performing team of engaged product managers.

  • A resume of successes, failures, and learnings.

The full salary range* for this role is $204,000 to $255,000 to $306,000 CAD..

In addition, this role is eligible for variable pay that is based on company performance, with actual payout amounts calculated and paid on a quarterly basis.

*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate. Please note there are a separate set of salary bands for other regions based on local currency.
