Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Junior Web Developer to join our Marketing team in our Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto hub locations

What your team does:

We have an amazing marketing team that is on a mission to transform the legal experience for all. Our web development team’s goal is to deliver an incredible experience to our website visitors and customers. This team is primarily responsible for building and managing our web infrastructure collaborating with design, content, and growth marketing teams. You’ll be working with a team that values excellence and initiative. Your work will have an immediate and meaningful impact, and you will be supported with a full tech stack and the infrastructure of an outstanding team.

Who you are:

You have a passion for your craft and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Your diverse development knowledge enables you to solve complex technical problems. You have the ability to brainstorm a vision with our design teams, but also understand the limitations and complexities of our backend system and infrastructure.

What you’ll work on:

  • Developing marketing websites, microsites, and email templates from designs;

  • Ensuring responsive user interfaces for seamless cross-device experiences;

  • Translating figma mockups into functional web pages in collaboration with stakeholders;

  • Iterating on website performance, optimizing speed and usability

  • Participating in code reviews, testing, QA, and debugging for code quality maintenance;

  • Implementing design variations for A/B testing on our web properties;

  • Collaborating with the team for timely project execution;

  • Managing time effectively, prioritizing work based on deadlines and scope;

  • Supporting website infrastructure, wordpress plugins implementation and maintenance;

  • Supporting incident response management for marketing websites.

What you may have:

  • 2+ years of advanced HTML5/CSS3/SCSS experience, including cross-browser compatibility and accessibility;

  • Expert level proficiency with HTML5/CSS3/SCSS, including cross-browser compatibility and accessibility;

  • Javascript, DOM manipulation, PHP, responsive design techniques;

  • Proficiency in Wordpress;

  • Experience with source code management systems (we use git);

  • Experience with cross-browser development and browser degradation strategies;

  • Passion for great user experience and responsive design;

  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines;

  • Strong desire to learn the latest technologies and practices to enhance your craft;

  • A solid web portfolio.

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Knowledge about technical SEO;

  • Experience implementing non-trivial web tracking with tools like Google Analytics and Segment;

  • Experience with Multisite setups;

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks;

  • Familiarity with a PHP template engine (we use Twig);

  • Knowledge of using task runners and package managers (we use Webpack, Grunt, Bower and Yarn);

  • Familiarity with optimizing web performance;

  • SaaS/tech experience.

  • The expected salary range* for similar roles within Clio is: $58,600.00 - $83,700.00

*Please note that the expected new hire salary range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
