Summary:

We are currently seeking a Group Product Manager to join our Product team. This role can be performed from one of our Canadian offices, or remotely from the US or Canada or a combination of both. Some exceptions may apply.

What your team does:

Accounting is the backbone of the back office function for any legal practice. Effectively tracking and managing the financial performance of the firm is a business critical function for our customers. You will lead the product vision, strategy and roadmap execution to make Accounting an area of strength for Clio. It's a key area of investment for the company and a cornerstone of our future growth.

As the successful candidate, we will rely on your tried, tested and well honed product management skills combined with your prior experience building accounting products to shape the trajectory of new products and features, as well as integrations with external Accounting products. The business will look to you to articulate the customer impact, business opportunity, developments in the market and how we should stay ahead of that from a product perspective. To achieve these results you will also collaborate cross functionally and work with engineering and design teams to execute against the roadmap that you've set.

What you'll work on:

  • Product Vision & Leadership: You will develop a bold and exciting vision, strategy and roadmap that moves our business and customers forward and drives successful outcomes. Working from the overarching strategy set for the Product team, which you will contribute to and influence, you will own the business case and strategy for how your area will help us achieve our overall goals.

  • Strategy and Prioritization: As a product management leader, you are expected to align your team’s initiatives and priorities with Clio’s annual OKRs and long term mission. In addition, you are also expected to build mechanisms, habits, and rituals within your team to help product managers make data driven product decisions and tradeoffs.

  • Market and Customer Understanding: We believe that the success of our customers comes first. Therefore, as a Group Product Manager, you are expected to be an expert on the user as well as your domain. As such, constant communication with customers, (existing, churned and prospect) as well as an expert understanding of the markets in which we operate (including the competitive landscape) will be expected. This will be complemented by deep quantitative data to complete the customer and market picture. You will be a thought leader that brings best practices and innovation to our customers.

  • Coaching and Mentoring: As a Group Product Manager you will manage, mentor, and develop Product Managers. Clio will look to you to coach and mentor other Product Managers in their craft and, in conjunction with product leadership, contribute to the continuous up-leveling of the product function as a whole.

What you may have:

  • Proven experience leading the strategy and delivery of innovative accounting products.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

  • Adjacent experience with other fintech solutions that complement your accounting subject matter expertise.

  • Deep knowledge of bookkeeping best practices, accounts receivables, accounts payables and other accounting related workflows.

  • Experience integrating with well known accounting softwares like QuickBooks Online and Xero.

  • You have experience working with business leaders and executives, and are able to easily navigate communications with senior leadership teams. Can work in a highly collaborative team without ego

  • You have a track record of building and growing a high-performing team of product managers.

  • You have had your fair share of failures and learnings under your belt. You have experience not just shipping products but launching and iterating on solutions to customer problems.

  • You have a track record of breaking down objectives into initiatives and delivering to customers at scale

Serious bonus points if you have:

  • Your CPA designation

  • Knowledge of the nuances of accounting requirements within the US legal industry.

  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1
